Have some fun with the family this fall season. Here are ideas for fun family fall activities.

Though summer is a fading memory there is plenty of fun left in the year as Fall approaches. There are many beautiful colors to see in nature. And delicious smells from apple and pumpkin treats. It is a fun time of year and there are many family fall activities to stay entertained.

Family Fall Activities

There are many family fall activities to keep everyone entertained this season. From apple picking, to going on a hike you will have plenty of ideas to celebrate fall.

Go Apple Picking

Head to a U-pick farm or an apple orchard and pick apples. Maybe you’re lucky enough to have an apple tree in your back yard. Or if you don’t have access to either one visit a farmers market to stock up on apples.

Once you get home, gather the family together and start baking. Have the kids help you wash and peel the apple then get started making some treats.

Some family favorite apple treats are:

  • Apple Pie
  • candied apples
  • apple crisp
  • apple sauce
  • cider

Take a Walk

To take in the Fall colors go on a hike with your kids. You can spend a day lost in the forest admiring the changing colors of the leaves. While out on your hike have your kids collect leaves and pinecones to do fall crafts.

If a hike sounds like too much work take a stroll around your neighborhood or a local park. You can still admire the leaves turning beautiful shades of orange and yellow.

Jump in a Leaf Pile

The falling leaves can make quite a mess in your yard. Since you’ll have to rake up all the falling leaves you might as well let the kids have some fun and jump in leave piles.

A big pile of leaves is so tempting for kids to jump in. You might as well let them have a little fun and you can make them rake the leaves back up when they’re done. Which is another activity to keep them busy:)

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Visiting a pumpkin patch is a tradition you can start with your kids. It’s a lot easier to go to a grocery store and pick up a pumpkin. But going to a pumpkin patch will be more memorable for your kids. Being able to walk through the patch searching for the perfect pumpkin is a lot more fun.

Make something with Pumpkin

What I look forward to most in the fall is pumpkin spice flavor. Don’t forget to make some delicious treats with pumpkin as the star ingredient.

My daughter’s favorite pumpkin item is pumpkin pie. This is an easy pumpkin pie recipe that the kids can help with.

Another fun activity for the family to do is having a tea party with your kids. You can make a batch of pumpkin spice tea for the tea party.

Corn Maze

Walking in a corn maze is a fun activity to do in the fall. Get lost for a while with your kids as you help each other navigate through acres of corn stalks towering above you.

Attend a Fall Festival

Are there any Fall festivals happening in your area? Find a festival you can take the family to. Maybe you can go for a hayride or partake in a pumpkin toss?

Here are ideas for fun family fall activities. Stay indoors and make fall crafts. Or head outside and enjoy fun family fall activities.
