Supplies you’ll need:

- yellow marker
- scissors
- ribbon or string
- hole punch
Trick-or-Treating this Halloween may not happen. My kids will be really disappoint if it is cancelled. So I am trying to make Halloween more special by doing more craft and activities to celebrate the holiday.
This year hasn’t been easy on any of us. And sometimes we can forget how hard it is for our kids. So many things have been cancelled this year.
- school
- afterschool activities
- summer activities
- public pools were closed
- no fountains in the park to run through
- Zoos
- Museums
Though we have our health and loved ones 2020 has been a tough year! But now that the holiday season has begun we can celebrate by doing more together. And a perfect way to spend time together is by making crafts.
Kids only get to trick-or-treat maybe 10 times in their life. So missing out on 1 year is a lot!
Candy Corn Paper Plate Craft
This paper plate candy corn craft is make a cute decoration in your home. It’s a simple craft that little ones can make.
First Step:
First, you will need a yellow and orange marker and a paper plate. You can use any color of marker. Or a pencil or pen. But a yellow and orange marker will blend into the paint.
Draw two different sized circles on a paper plate. Draw a small circle in the center of the plate. Then a slightly bigger circle between the small circle and the edge of the paper plate.
Next Step:
Next, get a paint brush and paint. Then paint the edge of the paper plate yellow. The middle circle will be painted orange, and the center circle will be white. Or if you are using a white paper plate you can skip painting it. But my kids love to paint so I let them.
You could also use markers, crayons, or colored pencils if you prefer not to use paint. It will make the craft less messy. But if you use Crayola washable paint a mess will be easy to clean up:)
Depending on how long you want your bunting to be you will have to paint at least three different plates.
Once the paint had dried you will want to cut the plate like you are cutting a pizza. The cuts should resemble a triangle shape. Like a candy corn.
Last Step:
After the candy corn has been cut you will use ribbon, thread, or string to hang your candy corn from.
I had orange string I found at Dollar Tree so I taped the candy corn we made to the string with transparent tape.
You can also use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top of it (the white part). Once all the holes are punched you will thread the string or ribbon through all of the candy corn.
White yarn or string can be used so it would match the top of the candy corn and wouldn’t stand out.
Time to Decorate
Now you have adorable candy corn bunting to decorate a room with:)
